Breeding Program

What sets us apart

Healthy puppies is a must! We believe in quality over quantity. Each puppy comes with 2 vet records, supporting a clean bill of health and will be released with limited registration rights. Full registration (breeding rights) may be released if approved. We understand how important it is when choosing the perfect addition to your family. That's why we invite you and your family to our home to meet our puppies. This helps you make the perfect connection and ensures that you find the right fit for your family. When it is time for you to take your puppy home, you will receive a "doggy bag" filled with goodies to get you started, in addition to all of your AKC paperwork, vet records, and the litter certificate.

Genetic Testing

Health Assurance You Can Trust! Curious about what your puppy won’t inherit? We’ve got you covered. Every parent in our breeding program undergoes extensive screening and has been cleared of over 350 genetic health conditions—including those most common to Labrador Retrievers. We’re committed to full transparency and proudly share these results with you. When you visit, you’ll have access to detailed health reports so you can feel confident about the lifelong well-being of your future companion.

PRCD - Progressive Rod - Cone Degeneration. It’s an   inherited form of late - onset of progressive retinal atrophy (PRA)

EIC - Exercise Induced Collapse. Is characterized by   muscle weakness, lack of coordination, and life-threatening collapse after   intense exercise.

CNM - Centronuclear Myopathy is a muscle disorder that can   be inherited if either parent is a carrier.

DM - Canine Degenerative Myelopathy, aka chronic   degenerative radiculomyelopathy, is an incurable, progressive disease of the   canine spinal cord.

HPNK - Hereditary Nasal Parakeratosis. It’s a genetic   defect caused by a mutation in a gene that regulates differentiation of nose   cells. Resulting in the formation of a crust with cracks over the nasal area   of a young dog.

HUU - Hyperuricosuria means elevated levels of Uric acid   in the urine. Causing dogs to form stones in their bladders or kidneys.

MCD - Macular Corneal Dystrophy. This condition causes   abnormal corneal accumulation of complex carbohydrates called   glycosaminoglycans. Which is a rare disease, both parents must be carriers to   pass it to their puppies.

Narcolepsy - A disorder of the nervous system. Involving collapse   and loss of movement.

PKD - Polycystic Kidney Disease. Is a hereditary kidney   disease.

DD - Dilute (D Locus). A mutation in the gene is the   cause of color dilution. A dog with a DD result will have all their black or   brown pigment lightened (“diluted”) to gray or light brown and may lighten   red pigment to cream.

ACVO - American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists

Our Home & Environment

At Luvable AZ Labs, our home is thoughtfully designed to provide a safe, comfortable, and enriching environment for our Labradors. Inside, our dogs enjoy a cozy, climate-controlled space where they can rest, relax, and stay cool during the Arizona heat. When they’re outside, they spend their time running, playing, and swimming, giving them a healthy balance of activity and downtime.

We proudly raise both American and English Labrador Retrievers in Chocolate, Yellow, and Black, focusing on temperament, health, and well-rounded family companions.

Genetic Health & Disease Testing

🩺 Our Commitment to Health & Standards

At Luvable AZ Labs, the health and well-being of our Labradors is our highest priority. We are committed to maintaining a responsible breeding program built on genetic health, thoughtful pairings, and long-term wellness.

Every parent dog in our program undergoes comprehensive genetic testing and health screening to help ensure strong, healthy puppies with a solid foundation for life.

We proudly follow the guidelines of respected programs such as the OFA Canine Health Information Center (CHIC) and the AKC BRED WITH H.E.A.R.T. program, which recognize breeders committed to high standards of health, transparency, and responsible breeding practices.

Our Labradors are screened for key breed-relevant genetic conditions, helping us reduce the risk of inherited issues and prioritize long-term health in every litter.

They are cleared by a ACVO ophthalmologic examination.

We invite you to review the full health screening results during your visit, and to learn how these insights help guide responsible, science-based breeding practices. To dive deeper into how genetic testing shapes ethical breeding decisions, we also recommend this introductory video featuring Dr. Adam Boyko.

This video explains how genetic health results determine our decision to breed our Labs.

Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS)

This technique is quite fascinating—by introducing puppies to gentle stressors, such as slight temperature changes or mild tactile stimulation, we can positively impact their neurological development, stress tolerance, and overall adaptability.

Research has shown that these brief, controlled experiences can lead to stronger immune systems, improved cardiovascular performance, and enhanced problem-solving skills as the puppies mature. It’s a wonderful approach to give our furry friends a head start in life!

The early days and weeks are crucial for a puppy's development, and ENS can have lasting benefits. Here’s a quick recap of the steps involved:

  1. Remove from Litter: Separate the puppy briefly from its litter.
  2. Cool Temperature Exposure: Expose the puppy to a cool environment for a short time.
  3. Different Positions: Hold the puppy in various positions.
  4. Gentle Touching: Touch different parts of the puppy's body gently.
  5. Tickling Toes: Lightly tickle in between the puppy's toes.

It's usually a once-a-day routine for just a few seconds, starting from birth and continuing until the puppy is around 7 weeks old and ready for their forever family!

Meet Rocky — Our Big-Hearted Water-Loving Studmuffin

Say hello to Rocky, our handsome English stud and resident cuddle king. At 85 pounds of pure affection, Rocky is the perfect blend of strength and sweetness. He’s playful, loyal, and full of boundless energy—but above all, he’s a big baby who lives for love and attention.

True to his Labrador roots, Rocky is a water enthusiast through and through. Rain or shine, you’ll find him diving into the nearest pond or perfecting his cannonball skills with uncontainable joy. His mornings start with a brisk walk to stretch those powerful legs, followed by some well-deserved snuggles with his favorite humans.

Rocky’s personality is as warm as his wagging tail—gentle, goofy, and endlessly devoted. Whether he’s making a splash or melting into your lap, he brings a heart full of happiness to everyone around him.

Meet Toby: Our Chocolate Showstopper

Toby is our stud with energy for days, muscles for miles, and full‑on heart‑throb hunk vibes. At 5 years old and weighing in at a solid 85 pounds, he brings big personality, big presence, and big zoomies everywhere he goes.

When he’s not melting hearts with those soulful chocolate eyes, he’s busy burning off his endless energy with agility exercises — because being both handsome and athletic is just part of his brand. Toby moves like he knows he’s impressive… because he is.

But behind all that confidence and athleticism is a dog with a heart as big as his build. Toby is affectionate, people‑oriented, and happiest when he’s right beside his humans. He has a goofy, lovable charm that makes him impossible not to adore, and he passes that same sweetness and steady temperament on to his puppies.

Toby is the full package — strength, sweetness, stamina, intelligence, and undeniable heart‑throb appeal. He’s a foundational part of our program, producing puppies with his same gorgeous structure, expressive eyes, and warm, loyal personality.

We’re proud to have Toby as one of our studs and even prouder of the legacy he continues to build through every litter.

Duke

Duke

Duke

Meet Duke — One of Our Handsome Studs

Duke is the perfect blend of his parents, Rocky and Mia, carrying forward the traits we love most from both sides of his lineage. From his mom, he inherited that undeniable love for water — the kind that turns a simple hose sound into a full‑body wake‑up call. Even if he’s passed out on the couch, the moment he hears water running, he’s up, alert, and ready to dive into the fun.

While he’ll happily play fetch for a bit, he’s not the marathon retriever his mom is. Duke has his own agenda: enjoy a few rounds, charm you with those sweet eyes, and then head straight for the pool to lounge like the king he is. Water time is his love language.

What truly sets Duke apart, though, is his heart. He is extremely affectionate, gentle, and endlessly loving. He adores everyone he meets — people, kids, other dogs — and he carries himself with that soft, soulful sweetness that makes Labs so special. Whether he’s leaning in for cuddles or greeting a new friend with a wag that moves his whole body, Duke brings warmth everywhere he goes.

We’re proud to have him as part of our Luvable AZ Labs family and even more excited to watch him pass on his incredible temperament, charm, and water‑loving spirit to future generations.

Meet Chloe — The Confident Queen with a Tender Heart

Chloe is the undisputed diva of our Labrador family. Independent and poised, she moves through life on her own terms—but don’t let that regal air fool you. Beneath her confident stride is an incredibly sweet soul who adores cuddles and affection. Whether she’s lounging gracefully on the couch or casting that signature “look” to request some love, Chloe always knows how to make a connection.

She’s the natural leader of her group, gently guiding and corralling the others with calm authority and quiet confidence. Yet, despite her alpha nature, Chloe’s affectionate temperament shines brightest in the quiet moments—nuzzling into your side, resting her head in your lap, or simply sitting close as if to say, “I’ve got you.”

At a healthy 70 pounds, Chloe brings together the best of both worlds: grace and guidance, loyalty and love.

Koda

Meet Mia — Our Water-Loving Jolly- Ball- Obsessed Queen

Say hello to Mia, one of the sweetest souls you'll ever meet. Overflowing with affection, she’s the kind of companion who lives for snuggles and quiet moments curled up by your side. Loyal to the core, Mia embodies the true meaning of “man’s best friend.” Her gentle nature and soft heart make her a calming presence in any room.

But don’t let that tenderness fool you — Mia is also full of energy, personality, and pure athletic joy. She’s an enthusiastic fetch partner and absolutely lights up around water. Splashing, swimming, soaking her paws… the outdoors is her happy place.

And then there’s her Jolly Ball — Mia’s pride, joy, and full‑time hobby. It doesn’t matter if the sun is up, down, or if everyone else has called it a night… Mia can play with that ball for hours. She’ll sprint, leap, and show off her athleticism like she’s training for the canine Olympics. That Jolly Ball brings out her playful, unstoppable, zoom‑queen side every single time.

Weighing in at a healthy 70 pounds, Mia blends tenderness and playfulness in perfect harmony. She’s a joyful presence, always ready to share her heart — and maybe a few slobbery tennis balls too. Mia is truly one of a kind, and we’re grateful every day to have her as part of our Luvable AZ Labs family.

Koda

Meet Koda: Queen of Cuddles

Koda is our sweet and soulful Chocolate English Lab who’s never far from her humans — especially if there’s a cuddle involved. With her velvety coat and gentle eyes, she’s the definition of a lovebug. Whether she’s lounging in your lap (yes, all 85 pounds of her!) or splashing joyfully in the pool, Koda brings warmth, affection, and a whole lot of tail wags to every moment.

She has a calm, nurturing presence that makes everyone feel instantly at ease. Koda is the dog who leans her whole body into you for love, follows you from room to room just to be close, and wholeheartedly believes she is a lap dog. Her bond with her people is deep, loyal, and incredibly tender.

But don’t let her soft side fool you — Koda has a playful, water‑loving side that we just love!  And her favorite day of the week? Irrigation day. Watching the water fill the yard is her version of a holiday.

Koda also takes her role as “supervisor of the crew” very seriously. Whether you’re working in the yard, fixing something around the house, or simply walking from one room to another, she’s right there overseeing operations with her calm, steady presence. She’s observant, attentive, and always making sure her people are doing things correctly — according to Koda’s standards, of course.

She embodies everything we adore in an English Lab: gentle, affectionate, people‑oriented, goofy in all the best ways, and beautifully balanced in temperament.

Koda is truly one of the hearts of our home and our program — our cuddle queen, our water‑baby, and our resident supervisor.

Meet Xena: Beauty Marked by Love

Our spunky, loving, and endlessly playful girl, Xena brings joy everywhere she goes. She’s a full 100% English beauty weighing in between 65–70 pounds, with a signature marking that runs down the brim of her nose — an elegant little detail that makes her stand out in every crowd.

Sister to Koda and adored by everyone who meets her, Xena has that perfect blend of sweetness and spark. She’s the girl who can go from bouncing around the yard with pure, goofy excitement to curling up beside you like the world’s softest, sweetest shadow. Her personality is expressive, warm, and full of life — she has a way of making every moment feel a little brighter.

Xena is also incredibly people‑oriented. She thrives on connection, loves being close, and has a gentle, affectionate nature that makes her a favorite with kids, adults, and other dogs alike. Whether she’s nudging your hand for more pets, leaning in for a snuggle, or giving you that “I adore you” look with her soulful eyes, she makes it impossible not to fall in love.

And of course, her playful side is unmatched. She’s always ready for fun — zoomies, yard adventures, silly antics, or just being the center of attention. Xena brings a spark of joy to everything she does, and her happy energy is contagious.

She is truly a treasured part of our Luvable AZ Labs family — a girl with heart, personality, beauty, and that irresistible Xena charm that makes her unforgettable.

Our Breeding Philosophy

Breeding Program

Our breeding program at Luvable AZ Labs is incredibly well-structured and thorough. By adhering to strict guidelines and collaborating closely with The Complete Pet Animal Hospital www.thecompleteanimalhospital.com (623-343-0664) We ensure that both the parent dogs and the puppies receive the best possible care.

💜 A Little Vet Love from Us to You 💜

We always want our families to feel supported long after their puppy goes home, and one of the biggest ways we do that is by partnering with a veterinary team we trust with our whole hearts.

If it’s possible for your family, we highly encourage you to use our vet. They know our program, our dogs, our lines, and the level of care we expect. That means:

  • They understand the temperament, growth patterns, and health needs of Labs specifically
  • They keep consistent, accurate records from birth onward
  • They treat our puppies like their own — gentle, patient, and genuinely excited to see them
  • They communicate clearly and never rush you through questions
  • They’ve supported our program for years and have always gone above and beyond

Our vet team isn’t just “a vet.” They’re part of the Luvable AZ Labs family. They’ve loved on our mamas, celebrated our litters, and helped us raise healthy, confident puppies from day one.

If you’re able to continue care with them, your puppy benefits from a seamless transition and a team that already knows their history and genetics. And honestly… they just adore our babies.

And if you do choose to go through our vet, just let them know you’re one of our Luvable AZ Labs families — they always take extra special care of our pups and love knowing where their little patients come from.

As always, we support every family’s choice — but if you’re looking for the best, we’re proud to recommend the people who’ve been the best for us. 🐾

Here’s a brief summary of our meticulous process:

  1. Top Breeding Dogs: Only the best dogs are selected for breeding to meet breed standards.
  2. Annual Health Clearances: Parents are seen and cleared annually to continue breeding.
  3. Early Veterinary Care: Each puppy is examined within 3-5 days of birth, with dewclaws removed and a full physical exam conducted.
  4. Six-Week Check-Up: Puppies return to the vet at six weeks for another full exam, ensuring no heart murmurs, hernias, or cleft palates. They also start off on the right paw for you and will receive their first parvovirus shot.

Our dedication to producing healthy, well-tempered puppies while maintaining transparency and responsibility is truly who we are.  Luvable AZ Labs puts immense care and passion into raising exceptional Labrador Retrievers.
